This historic hillside village, a ancient white village in Andalucía, approximately 45 minutes’ drive from Granada, is the stimulating setting for this creative getaway. Participants of every skill level – even beginners – will learn how to conceive and execute non-representational pieces. Some time will be spent in the open air, working on tutorials in the open. These sketches and watercolour studies will then be developed in the studio, with attendees creating multiple interpretive scenes in acrylic paint to be shown in the village. The group has exclusive access of the venue, which is centered on an open courtyard and has a rooftop with views over the hills. The cost covers five days of painting tuition; all meals; and an trip to the local castle and other points of interest.

Vegetarian Culinary in Portugal

This sun-drenched cooking retreat, set on a villa by the river in the inland Portuguese region, is inspired by the plant-based cuisine of renowned chefs. Participants will master the art of selection of small dishes, take part in a falafel-making workshop, perfect mid-morning meals such as shakshuka, and make substantial main courses including spicy mushroom ragu and moussaka. The schedule includes trips to the village market and a nearby winery to sample local vintages, combined with free time for walks by the nearby river, to relax on the terrace or take a dip in the infinity pool. Hip Hop in Buckinghamshire

Hip Hop Don’t Stop is an energizing, inclusive three-day adults’ street dance camp in High Wycombe. The daily schedule each day is a party-style group warmup, followed by several 90-minute workshops covering various street dance styles, then an hour-long freestyle session to show off new moves. Participants are divided into groups according to ability and experience, so it is perfect for those who are brand new to popping and locking, all the way to advanced dancers or instructors. The camp does not provide accommodation but there are several hostels and hotels within walking distance, and it is 23-35 minutes by train into central London.

Maritime Singing Weekend in St Ives

St Ives is the excellent location for a maritime music retreat. Participants will learn traditional shanties from a folk singer and vocal coach, and have a go at composing original ones. The schedule includes voice exercises, breath control techniques, stagecraft advice and a final evening concert. The holiday is based at a rural hotel with views of the bay. All meals are included, such as a Cornish cream tea on arrival, cooked or continental breakfasts, lunches to go and three-course dinners. Traditional rum, alas, is not included. Author and lecturer an experienced instructor runs the daily workshops on this writing retreat. He covers topics including story structure, character development, setting and suspense, to submitting work to agents.
