Eulogies Pour In for the Reiners as Medical Examiner's Findings Remain Under Wraps.

More than two weeks subsequent to the heartbreaking passing of esteemed filmmaker Rob Reiner and his wife, photographer Michele Reiner, friends and colleagues continue to honor the couple.

Quoting a Classic: Cary Elwes Remembers His Director

Sharing on Instagram, actor Cary Elwes, who was featured in Reiner's iconic movie *The Princess Bride*, mentioned he only now felt prepared to post publicly about his profound loss.

"Enough time has gone by that I can at last express my sorrow into words," wrote Elwes, adding that his first meeting with Reiner made him fall in love. "When we commenced sharing more moments together I understood this was someone I desired in my life."

The actor shared never-before-seen clips from the film, adding that he doesn't recollect "one day without laughter".

"The film is about affection, allegiance and giving. Things that Rob cherished deeply. This is one of the many reasons he was the best person to direct it," Elwes continued.

He went on to praise Michele Reiner, noting: "Asserting that they were a formidable pair would be an oversimplification. My heart still hurts every time I recall you." He concluded with a phrase from *The Princess Bride*: "Sure, death cannot stop true love but existence is agony without you."

Martin Scorsese Recalls a Friend and Collaborator

In a different piece, legendary director Martin Scorsese also honored Reiner, whom he first met in the 1970s.

"Right away, I loved hanging out with Rob. We had a instant connection for each other. He was uproarious and sometimes bitingly funny, but he was never the kind of guy who would dominate the room," Scorsese said.

Scorsese pointed out Reiner's supporting role in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, portraying the father of the protagonist.

"He was skilled at improv with the best. He was a expert at comedy, he worked seamlessly with the cast, and he grasped the human predicament of his character," Scorsese noted.

Court Proceedings: Autopsy Reports Withheld

This week, a Los Angeles superior court judge decided to bar the release of the Reiners' post-mortem findings, following a petition from the Los Angeles Police Department.

A court order put a embargo on the cases to restrict the public release of "any investigative information, evidence and photographs" pertaining to the active case.

The coroner's office had already determined their deaths were the consequence of murder, with a official listing listing the cause as "injuries from a sharp object".

Response and Criticism

Following the deaths, public figures shared different reactions.

Ex-President Donald Trump posted on the matter, making provocative claims that were met with immediate backlash by many commentators.

Podcaster Joe Rogan added his perspective to the those speaking out recently. Conversing on his podcast, Rogan characterized the comments as "shocking" and suggested they demonstrated a worrisome absence of compassion.

Rogan ended by proposing that an aide should have acted when the decision to speak on the passing was made.
