Former President Donald Trump revealed on the weekend that he has invited the family of a Guard member killed last week to attend the White House.

He mentioned that he conversed with her family and they were “devastated”.

Information on the Heartbreaking Event

Specialist Beckstrom, 20, was killed in a attack on last Wednesday in DC.

Her comrade, Andrew Wolfe, 24, remains hospitalized in grave state.

Memorials across the state have been held in their honor.

White House Invitation

The president explained he’s proposed a meeting at the presidential residence for the families of both members of the state Guard.

“I said: ‘When you’re ready, because that’s a difficult moment, come to the White House. We’re going to pay tribute to Sarah,” the president addressed the press. “And in the same way with Andrew, whether he recovers or not.”

Community Response

Mourners came together over the weekend at the high school in West Virginia to remember Sarah.

Both she and Wolfe had been working with the military unit as part of Trump’s government program to assist public safety in DC.

Paying Tribute to the Soldier

“She was the kind of student that teachers desired. She carried herself with quiet strength, a warm expression and a optimistic attitude that lifted those around her,” Jarrod Hankins, the principal of Beckstrom’s previous school, stated to the press. “She was kind, considerate and always eager to assist people.”

Funeral arrangements for Sarah are yet to be finalized.

Judicial Actions and Government Changes

Authorities have indicted a 29-year-old individual from Afghanistan with a charge of murder and two counts of violent assault while armed.

The event led the government to halt asylum applications and temporarily stop providing visas to holders of Afghan passports.

Condition of the Airman

The airman, a native of Martinsburg, began his service in February 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of Musselman High, per the news agency.

He remains under medical supervision and is “fighting for his life”, the state’s governor Patrick Morrisey mentioned on a news program.

The state’s top lawyer the attorney general told a news show that she also intended to meet with the family.

Memory of the Fallen Soldier

Beckstrom, from her hometown, graduated from Webster County high school in mid-2023 and began her service not long after, serving as a military police officer with honor, per the military.

“She had a lot of kindness and she definitely had courage,” Morrisey told the gathering at the memorial. “Though her time lasted far too short, she has made an impact that’s going to last forever.”
